Building the Defense Workforce of Tomorrow.

The Defense Workforce Innovation and Technology Center (DWITC) accelerates workforce development and technology adoption by uniting defense, industry, and education partners.

About DWITC

The Defense Workforce Innovation and Technology Center is a Pennsylvania 501(c)(3) nonprofit created to address urgent workforce and technology gaps in the defense industrial base. Our mission is to accelerate innovation, strengthen talent pipelines, and unite partners across industry, education, and government.

Closing the Gap in Defense Readiness

The Challenge

The defense sector faces persistent talent shortages, complex production timelines, and limited coordination between training providers and employers.

Our Response

DWITC unites people, technology, and organizations to ensure the defense workforce is prepared, agile, and ready for the future.

Investing Where It Counts

DWITC directs its funding and partnerships toward three priorities that ensure lasting impact across the defense industrial base.

WORKFORCE DEVELOPMENT: BUILDING TALENT PIPELINES

We’re building regional pipelines between training providers and employers through apprenticeship programs, training partnerships, and upskilling initiatives to fill critical roles.

TECHNOLOGY INTEGRATION: ACCELERATING INNOVATION

We’re helping defense businesses adapt and apply advanced technologies by supporting demonstrations of manufacturing tools, digital adoption, and process acceleration for more efficient production.

COLLABORATION: UNITING THE ECOSYSTEM

We’re creating a united ecosystem of businesses, educators, and stakeholders through public–private partnerships, academic engagement, and cross-industry convenings to strengthen the defense industrial base.

Powered By Partnership

Our partner network amplifies DWITC’s impact by bringing expertise, resources, and reach to the mission. These organizations represent leaders in defense, academia, and industry who recognize the importance of DWITC’s mission.
